Well the initial goal of this blog post was to show you pictures of me pregnant at 17 weeks with my daughter and compare them with today (17 weeks pregnant with my second child – orange top). But now that I have seen the photos I think I look the same – in fact in my first pregnancy I had a nice glow that is missing this time although you can’t really tell as I just scanned the photo so the colour is a little pasty.
Ok so perhaps it was a matter of angles because I feel a little better seeing the side shot – see even in my first pregnancy I showed straight away.
I look really pregnant don’t I!!!!! I haven’t had any comments from strangers yet though so I still must be in the risky category LOL. My belly is nice a round except for the very bottom of it where there is beginnings of loose skin from the weight loss – but not to worry, it is better than having it full of fat
.
I am so so excited that tomorrow is the last day of 2009. While not wanting to wish my life away I am really looking forward to what the next year is going to bring especially regarding the baby obviously but also buying our first home. I keep having painting fantasies and have already decided on a colour for the baby’s room (will also suit if my daughter and the baby have share). My husband and I have been married for 6 & 1/2 years and we have never had a home where we could paint and choose colours etc or even put hooks in the walls so it is those little things that are just making me really look forward to it. Also knowing that we won’t have to move for a very long time is so appealing. I am really looking forward to be able to work on our own house/unit even if it is a dump, it will be our little piece of dumpy heaven.
I know it will take years for us to get it to how we want it due to funds but it doesn’t matter – it is all the small touches that we will be able to do to make it our own. OK so I am a little too excitied – we are only going to start looking seriously around April 2010 but it seems so close now.
I went to a book store and they had some beautiful house books, one on how to do all the fix it jobs (for my hubby hehehe) and another on colours which was a beautifully photographed book showing houses and how they had used different colours etc. I would loved to have bought both books but at $50 each I left them both there and will try the library to continue fantasising about the house I don’t even have yet.
Baby was kicking me again yesterday – it seems to have one active day and then a few days rest. A couple of weeks until my ultrasound now – Boy or Girl???? that is the question. I went to the shops today to buy some new socks and undies for my daughter (who is growing so fast). The socks I bought for her I thought would be huge but no they are just right which is a bit scary as they are for 3-5 year olds and she has just turned 3 hehehe. Anyway I saw all the baby things and I would have loved to buy bubby something small but as I don’t know the sex yet I resisted………..but it was difficult.
That is it for me – hope everyone has a great new year’s eve tomorrow – my hubby has the day off but will be in bed early as he works new years day so I might be watching the fireworks alone from the balcony (well bubby can see it through my belly button).
Happy New Years – I wish for everyone to be happy and healthy and most of all no pbing hehehe! (p.s I pb’d milk today as I tried to drink to close after eating – naughty naughty).
